As we enter into another week under the “stay at home” order, I’m taking a few minutes today to reflect on the strength of our member and trade organization network.

In the last few weeks, local and national trade organizations like IREM, Apartment Association of Metropolitan Pittsburgh (AAMP), Pennsylvania

With the development that most property management activities fall under “essential business” per Gov. Wolf’s order, we find ourselves operating in an entirely new reality, and seeking to find ways to ensure continuity of service for residential and commercial tenants, while ensuring safety, wellness and income stability for our teams.

In challenging times and otherwise, your member status provides you with enormously helpful resources.

IREM is at the forefront, bringing you the series “From the Front Lines”, a weekly series to help you manage your business under the ongoing Covid-19 alert, and multiple other resources are updated daily at:  https://www.irem.org/learning/coronavirus

Some members have emailed the Chapter directly to link to resources, information, and best practices; we are happy to provide this support to you at any time.  While our chapter office  is operating remotely under the current orders, you can reach us with questions and feedback any time at IREM7@realtorspgh.com.  Our dedicated IAE staff at the REALTORS Association of Metropolitan Pittsburgh continues to work diligently and they will be attentive to any questions you have.  Our website, www.IREM7.org, also provides links to the aforementioned resources, member and vendor directories and so much more.

Stay tuned for the release of a video update from yours truly, in which I will aim to keep you well informed on the latest Industry and Chapter developments.

If I can emphasize anything at this time, it’s this: the sharing of information and practices with fellow members, colleagues, and trade organizations will be key to our collective Industry success during this crisis.    We would love to hear from you on how you are adjusting your day to day operations and personnel protocols – email the chapter and allow us to include your strategies in our pipeline of newsletters, emails and social media updates.  Your experience is, without a doubt, valuable.

On Chapter education, in-person classes have been postponed until further notice, but a host of on-demand webinars, and online certification classes are always available to you at: https://www.irem.org/learning

With regard to Chapter events, we are “paused” on holding our normal spring events, along with fellow chapters across the country, intent in our efforts to stop the virus.  Our Chapter will be hard at work to reschedule and restructure missed and future events.  We will have SO much to catch up on when we see you again!

Until then, stay in touch, stay up to date, and most importantly, stay well.
